Wylde Center hosts a variety of events throughout the year that connect people to nature through our gardens, educate children and adults about caring for the environment, and celebrate the communties who support the important work we do. Additionally, we host signature events that are fundraisers, a chance to let her our hair down, and a fun opportunity to get to know other Wylde Center supporters.
Connecting to Nature
Because we have five beautiful gardens, we have five beautiful locations that allow us to host events that connect people to nature in new and creative ways. Learning how our gardens inspire art, how to repurpose old wood, or which plants are best to attract pollinators in your garden are just some of the events we offer.
A popular workshop around here is Watercolors in the Wylde Garden where participants tour the garden, learn about the plants, and choose a scene to paint. The result is that everyone is an artist!
Community Events
Wylde Center hosts events that celebrate the communities where our gardens are located. These communities are our biggest supporters and deserve a little extra attention.
For example, each of our gardens hosts an annual free s'mores event that brings neighborhood families and individuals together around a bon fire to enjoy the classic sweet treat and reinforce the meaning of community.
Partnerships
We are not alone in our work to teach communities about the environment. In fact, there are dozens of allied organizations throughout Atlanta who align with our mission, and they are our partners. The best way to spread the word about native species plants, the importance of trees, and how we can coexist with wildlife is to unite with other experts.
Recently, we partnered with Birds Georgia to teach beginners the basic about birding and the essential habitats of our native birds.
Signature Events
Just like any non-profit, we have our annual events that everyone counts down to. Beer Garden and Mulberry Fields Gone Wylde two of those that both help raise money to support the programs and operations of Wylde Center while being a ton of fun for evertone who attends. Music, food, and, of course, a garden make the best ingredients for a great time.
As we are constantly reviewing the way we do things, keep an eye out for new event ideas coming your way!
Plant Festivals
Twice a year we take our love of plants and crank it up a notch. Our Spring and Fall Plant Festivals highlight plants, offer educational stations, and provide an exchange of ideas and techniques among our community members. Our guests come from all corners of Atlanta to purchase plants that were grown in our nursery.
Although our Wylde Plant Market is open year round, the festivals are a fun, unique way to celebrate the love of gardening.
