Seed and Scion

February 23 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Seed and Scion Exchange

Our annual Seed and Scion Exchange is a unique event celebrating nature’s diversity and how we can work together to diversify our own gardens. Whether you’re an experienced gardener or new to growing, this event offers a fun opportunity to exchange seeds, scions (cuttings), and gardening knowledge with fellow plant enthusiasts. Come explore the rich variety of seeds and scions – common contributions include herbs, veggies, annuals, perennials, and more. Plus, you’ll connect with a community dedicated to sustainable gardening and helping one another succeed. This year we are partnering with Georgia Native Plant Society to especially promote our native species – come learn about when and how to grow natives! Wylde Center merchandise will be available for purchase.

Mark your calendars, and don’t miss this annual celebration of biodiversity, sustainability, and community!

Location:

The event will be at the old dairy barn at Decatur Legacy Park. The barn is located in front of the pond. The trail to the barn is uneven and can be muddy, so please wear appropriate footwear for a short walk. Everyone is welcome at this event. Transportation accommodations are available upon request. Please contact development@wyldecenter.org for more information.

A Decatur Legacy Park map and parking information can be found HERE.

Parking:

Parking is available a short walk from the barn entrance (see map).

Admission Information:
This event is open to all, and we encourage participation through one of the following options:

  • Donate 10 seed packets (packets can be partially used, homemade, or commercially sold).
  • Bring cuttings or scions to share.
  • Contribute gently used gardening accessories, books, or magazines.
