School Garden Training: Creating & Planting Your School Garden

$35“Creating and Planting Your School Garden” is designed to equip teachers with the knowledge and skills they need to successfully use their school garden. This in person training includes garden planning and design, soil health and compost, plant selection and care, and garden-based education with students.
The goal of this training is to empower teachers to use the garden as a tool for experiential learning and to integrate garden-based education into their curriculum. Teachers will learn how to engage their students in hands-on learning activities that foster an appreciation for nature, promote healthy eating habits, and provide opportunities for interdisciplinary learning.
Learn:
- Activities that encourage students of all ages to learn and grow in the garden
- Tangible gardening tips and ideas from experienced garden educators that can be applied to your classroom & school garden
- Specific strategies for how to grow a garden with groups of children (such as prepping a garden bed, composting and watering)

- A guided tour of our Edgewood Community Learning Garden
- Hands on gardening activities that you can recreate with students
