Onions and garlic are one of the easiest vegetables to grow in your garden and this is the time of year to plant. Onions and garlic grow all winter long and are ready to harvest and eat in May. Stephanie Van Parys, horticulturist, long time gardener, and Executive Director of Wylde Center has been growing onions and garlic for 20 years in her Decatur garden. She will cover the in’s and out’s of planting and harvesting onions and garlic.
Students will leave with at least four types of garlic to try in their own garden and resources on where to find onion starts.
