The Great Southeast Pollinator Census is here! On Friday, August 23 and Saturday, August 24, Georgia and other neighboring states will be counting pollinators in an effort to monitor populations and raise awareness for conservation. In solidarity of this fantastic project, Wylde Center is participating, too.
Join us Friday, August 23 as we count pollinators at Hawk Hollow Garden in the Kirkwood neighborhood. Site Coordinator Tamara has set up a special volunteer session on Hands On Atlanta to help us track all of the activity at our native plant garden. We will combine a bit of gardening with pollinator counting from 10 AM to 12 PM. It’s the perfect way to get your hands dirty and help our garden friends! This is also a great family activity.
Can’t make it to Hawk Hollow? No worries! You can count pollinators anytime on Friday or Saturday in any of our gardens, around your neighborhood, or even in your own backyard. Take a 15-minute break to appreciate the buzzing variety of pollinators that visit a single plant. Let’s make this census count!
Happy counting, and see you in the garden!
