Decatur EARTH DAY Festival

EARTH DAY PARTY AT THE GARDEN!
April 19, 2015 1-4pm

Gnomes: one of a species of diminutive beings, that inhabit the interior of the earth and act as guardians of its treasures.

Because there’s no place like gnome.

The City of Decatur, in partnership with the Wylde Center, will be holding its annual Decatur Earth Day Festival (DEDF) on Sunday, April 19, 2015, 1-4 p.m. at the Oakhurst Garden at the corner of Oakview and South McDonough, Decatur.  This gnome-themed celebration of Earth Day is a fun and festive way for more than 400 members of the community to join the gnome ranks in protecting our natural world on the 45th Anniversary of Earth Day.  At the city’s OFFICIAL EARTH DAY PARTY, we will have an exciting array of events planned for children, youth and adults and include, for example:

  • Costume Parade
  • Earth-friendly bike ride
  • Yoga
  • FREE Arts & Crafts for kids
  • Scavenger hunt for kids
  • Southeastern Reptile Rescue will be on site with a exhibit full of a variety of snakes.
  • LIVE Music by MoRhythm and Scene of the Crime!
  • Announcement of our Special Earth Day T-shirt contest winner
  • Refreshments for sale by local restaurants

Lots of Fun for the Kids
